Compare Dutch lotteries
— odds, prizes and good causes

Eight lotteries with a Dutch Kansspelautoriteit (KSA) licence, lined up on the facts that change the choice: how often they draw, what a ticket costs, how large the headline prize is, the chance of any prize, and whether good causes get a fixed share. This page does not sell tickets.

Dutch lottery comparison 2026

Headline prizes are the published top of the game, not the live jackpot tonight. “Any prize” includes small wins and, where the operator says so, gifts. It is never the chance of the jackpot.

Lotto’s jackpot floor is disputed: a guide dated 3 October 2026 says €1 million, older sales pages still say €2.5 million. The live jackpot is on the operator’s site. Miljoenenspel’s €1 price is from that same October overview.

Which Dutch lottery fits which goal?

Biggest jackpot. Eurojackpot is the only game here with a cap of €120 million. The jackpot starts at €10 million and is shared across every country that sells it. The chance of that jackpot is 1 in 139,838,160. A line costs €2 and there are two draws a week.

Best chance of winning something. Staatsloterij publishes a 51.6% chance of a prize of at least €5 on a full lot across the 16 draws of 2026. That is the best any-prize figure in this set. It is not a coin-flip on the jackpot: about 13.2% of full lots won more than the stake, and the jackpot on one September 2026 draw was about 1 in 19.6 million for a full lot.

Money to good causes. Only the Postcode Loterij and VriendenLoterij promise at least 40% of the ticket price to charity. From 2025 proceeds the Postcode Loterij reported €378 million for 174 organisations. VriendenLoterij reported more than €160 million for 74 cultural organisations and more than 4,400 clubs. Staatsloterij, Lotto, Eurojackpot, Lucky Day, Miljoenenspel and Krasloten belong to Nederlandse Loterij. That group pays the Dutch state, sport and selected causes. That is not the same as 40% of your ticket.

A cheap weekly ticket. Miljoenenspel is €1 for a guaranteed €1 million prize every Saturday. The million does not roll over, and the chance gets longer as more numbers are sold. Lotto is €2 a line, 6 from 45, with jackpot odds of 1 in 8,145,060. Its 1-in-5.7 any-prize chance counts prizes from two correct numbers up.

A result the same day. Lucky Day draws every day at 18:00. You choose the stake, from €1.50 to €22.50. Ten correct numbers pay 300,000 times that stake: €450,000 on the minimum, €6.75 million on the maximum. The chance of the ten-number prize is about 1 in 454 million. Playing €1.50 every day is about €46 a month, more than a year of one Lotto line.

How to read the odds

A chance of 1 in 2 and a chance of 1 in 32 are not the same kind of promise. Staatsloterij’s 51.6% counts a prize of at least €5. The Postcode Loterij’s 1 in 5.3 is an average per lot and includes gifts. VriendenLoterij’s 1 in 3 includes the weekly bingo. Eurojackpot’s 1 in 32 counts the lower prize tiers. None of those numbers is the chance of the headline prize.

From 1 January 2026, Dutch gambling tax is 37.8% on a cash prize above €449, charged on the whole prize. The operator usually withholds it. Staatsloterij is the exception it advertises: the amount in the prize list is the amount you receive. The other games in this table do not make that promise.

Left out on purpose: TOTO, which is sports betting, and seasonal charity draws such as the Grote Clubactie. They are real, but they do not share one jackpot you can line up against Lotto.

Frequently asked questions

Which Dutch lottery has the best chance of winning anything?
Staatsloterij. Across the 16 draws of 2026 it publishes a 51.6% chance of a prize of at least €5 on a full lot, about 1 in 1.9. About 13.2% of full lots won more than the stake. The jackpot is still millions to one.
Which Dutch lottery has the biggest jackpot?
Eurojackpot. The jackpot starts at €10 million and stops at €120 million. It is shared by every country that sells Eurojackpot, not only the Netherlands. The chance of the jackpot is 1 in 139,838,160.
Which Dutch lotteries give a fixed share to charity?
Postcode Loterij and VriendenLoterij. At least 40% of the ticket price goes to good causes. The Nederlandse Loterij games support the state, sport and selected causes, but not as 40% of your ticket.
Are Dutch lottery prizes tax-free in 2026?
Only Staatsloterij clearly advertises tax-free prizes. For the other licensed lotteries on this page, expect 37.8% gambling tax on a cash prize above €449, withheld by the operator and charged on the whole prize. Prizes up to €449 stay under that threshold.
How much does a year of tickets cost?
One Lotto line every Saturday is €104. Both Eurojackpot draws each week are €208. Sixteen Staatsloterij fifth-lots are €56; sixteen full lots are €280. Fourteen Postcode Loterij draws at €16 are €224. Fifteen VriendenLoterij draws at €16 are €240. Lucky Day at €1.50 every day is about €548, and most people do not play every draw.
Does this page sell lottery tickets?
No. Dutch-Lottery.nl is an independent guide. Tickets are sold only by the licensed operators. You must be 18 or older to play.

Dutch-Lottery.nl compares public figures from the operators, the Kansspelautoriteit and published consumer overviews. Figures are a snapshot from October 2026, not a live jackpot. We do not sell tickets. 18+ only. If gambling stops being fun, contact Open over gokken.
