The Dutch Lotteries wants its players to enjoy the games of chance it offers responsibly. Thanks to our wide selection (National Lottery, Lotto, Eurojackpot, Toto, Million Game, Scratch Cards and Lucky Days), you will always find your favourite game of chance. We love that, but we also want it to be fun. We take it very seriously when dealing with our players, our games of chance and protecting the vulnerable in society with integrity.
What is the Dutch Lottery doing about it?
The government prohibits the sale of games of chance to under-18s, we randomly checked in our outlets to make sure there were no sales to minors. We also inform retailers about the risk of addiction and underage participation in games of chance.
We try to prevent excessive (excessive) participation by giving instructions to shopkeepers. There are maximum deposit amounts when playing our games of chance in-store and online. At Toto, you can set your own betting limit, or exclude yourself (temporarily). Test the possible disadvantages of new game modes, even if it is a low-risk game mode.
Minimum age is 18 year & slogan
In all our ads, we place the 18+ logo and the slogan “Play Consciously”. Via the website, you can find information on the characteristics of gambling addiction and contact support organisations directly.
The Dutch Lottery considers it natural to play a leading role in preventing and reducing potential problems associated with gambling participation. Although these are often games of limited risk, we believe that playing together should remain fun: conscious gaming.
Lottery gives money back to society
The Lotteries in Holland was formed in April 2016 from the merger of De Nederlandse Staatsloterij and De Lotto to become the largest gaming provider in the Netherlands with a wide range of games of chance.
We are the new name behind seven well-known games of chance: Staatsloterij, Lotto, Eurojackpot, Miljoenenspel, Lucky Day, Scratchcards and Toto. We make sport and exercise accessible to as many people as possible: from Olympic to Paralympic, recreational to Parasports. By playing one of our games of chance, you also contribute to a happy and healthy Netherlands. We are a non-profit organisation and ensure that all proceeds benefit Dutch society, sports and charities. Of the proceeds, 63% go to the Treasury and 37% to sports and charities.
